Maintenance

Workshop sprays and fluids for keeping tools, machines, and electrical gear clean and working. Covers carburettor cleaner, contact cleaner, penetrating oils, and general maintenance lubricants — the stuff you reach for when a drill chuck seizes, a throttle body gums up, or a switch starts arcing.

Carburettor and throttle body cleaners cut through fuel residue and carbon without leaving film. Use them on carbs, linkages, chokes, and intake runners — spray, let it work, wipe or blow clear. Keep electrics away while it flashes off.

Electrical contact cleaners displace moisture and strip oxidation from terminals, relay contacts, potentiometers, and PCB traces. They evaporate fast and leave no conductive residue, so you can spray a live circuit if you must (though safer to isolate first). Good for cleaning sensor plugs, coil connectors, and anything that's corroding or tracking.

Maintenance lubricants with PTFE give you penetration, water displacement, and a light protective film in one can. They're not cutting oils or assembly greases — use them for freeing stuck fasteners, protecting bare metal between jobs, or quieting hinges and slides. The PTFE additive reduces friction and helps the film last longer than straight mineral oil. If you're buying in bulk, the 5‑litre drum works out cheaper than aerosols when you're refilling trigger bottles or topping up parts washers.

Match the product to the job: contact cleaner for electronics, carb cleaner for fuel systems, maintenance spray for everything else. Store aerosols away from heat and check the nozzle straw hasn't clogged before you need it in a rush.
