Pick your load rating first. A 200 kg shelf holds hand tools and small parts; 500–600 kg suits paint tins, fluid containers, and packed boxes; 640 kg mesh shelves take engines, gearboxes, and heavy fabrications. Check the per-level figure, not the total — stacking one shelf with all the weight will bend the uprights.

Shelf type matters. Mesh shelves drain spills and let you see what's underneath, useful for dirty parts or outdoor sheds. Chipboard shelves sit flat and suit smaller items that would fall through mesh. Match the depth to what you're storing — brake drums and wheel bearings need less reach than full-width car tyres.

Wall-mounting tyre racks extend out when you need them, fold back when you don't. Wheel trolleys let you move a full set around the shop without stacking them by hand. Corner units use dead space where a standard frame won't fit. Sealey units bolt together without welding — you'll need a socket set and a level surface to assemble them square.
