Hose Clips

Worm-drive hose clips for securing flexible hose to pipe or barb fittings. Zinc plated mild steel band with a captive screw. Sizes run from 8mm minimum diameter up to 160mm, sold individually by the pack or as mixed assortments. Common applications include coolant hoses, air lines, fuel systems, hydraulic suction hose, and general fluid transfer where a reusable mechanical clamp is needed.

The size stamped on the clip is the clamping range in millimetres — measure the outside diameter of the hose once it's pushed onto the fitting, then pick a clip that spans that figure. If you're between sizes, go one band width up; an undersized clip won't engage enough thread to tighten properly. The 8–16mm and 10–16mm ranges cover most small-bore pneumatic and fuel hose. Mid-range clips from 40mm to 90mm suit typical automotive coolant hoses and larger hydraulic suction lines. The 120mm-plus brackets are for large-diameter flexible ducting, marine exhaust hose, or industrial extraction.

Zinc plating gives basic corrosion resistance outdoors and in light moisture. It will pit in saltwater or where hose dressing and oil sit on the band long-term. Tighten the screw until the band grips firmly but doesn't cut the hose — overtightening crushes the reinforcement and causes leaks at the bead. Check the clip hasn't rotated so the screw housing sits away from sharp edges or hot surfaces. If the hose expands under pressure or heat, a spring clip holds more consistent tension, but worm-drive clips are easier to adjust in confined spaces and cost less for workshops that reuse them across multiple jobs.
