Impact Sockets Individual

Impact sockets are heat-treated chrome molybdenum steel designed to withstand the repeated shock loads from impact wrenches and guns. Standard chrome vanadium hand sockets will crack under impact use. This range covers 1/2" and 3/4" square drive sizes in both standard and deep variants, with 6-point hex and bi-hex profiles across metric sizing from 10mm to 65mm.

Match the drive size to your impact tool — 1/2" for most cordless impacts and air guns up to around 1000Nm, 3/4" for heavy commercial work or truck wheel removal. Deep sockets give clearance on long stud threads or recessed fixings; standard depth handles most applications and fits tighter spaces.

Six-point hex is the default — it grips flats, not corners, and spreads load better than 12-point. Bi-hex (12-point) speeds positioning in awkward angles but has less contact area, so reserve it for bolts in good condition. Thin-wall sockets give extra clearance around tight wheel studs or machined housings where a standard wall fouls adjacent components.

Check the socket's impact rating matches your tool's output. Undersized sockets split; oversized ones round fastener heads before the socket fails. Black oxide or phosphate finish is typical — it resists corrosion better than bare steel but wears with use. Keep sockets clean and lightly oiled; road salt and brake dust will pit the interior if left sitting.
