Socket & Bit Sets

Socket bit sets give you drive-socket convenience with screwdriver-profile tips — hex, Torx, spline, or security variants. Useful when you need the torque of a ratchet or impact wrench on fasteners that would strip with a bare bit. Premier and Premier Black sets here cover 1/4″, 3/8″, and 1/2″ square drives in standard and impact-rated formats.

Pick the drive size to match your existing ratchets and breaker bars. If you run an impact wrench regularly, choose an impact-rated set — these are through-hardened to handle shock loads without shattering. Standard chrome-vanadium sets work fine with hand ratchets but will crack under pneumatic or cordless-impact use.

Torx (TRX-Star) bits handle higher torque than hex without camming out, which matters on tight cap screws or security fasteners. Spline bits suit twelve-point fasteners common on older machinery and some automotive work. Hex bits cover grub screws, Allen-head bolts, and imperial or metric socket-head cap screws — check which standard your kit uses before you start.

Low-profile socket bits fit into recessed bolt pockets where a standard bit-holder bottoms out before the tip seats. If you work on engine covers, gearbox housings, or tightly packed panels, the shorter overall length saves time and knuckle skin.

Security bits have the centre pin or tamper-resistant profile. Useful for sealed enclosures, public-access panels, and some electrical gear. The Premier Black 38-piece set combines standard and security Torx in one tray if you need both regularly.
