Stripe Removal Pads
Stripe removal pads fit angle grinders and specialist eraser tools to lift vinyl graphics, adhesive decals, and pinstripes from vehicle bodywork without scratching paint. The pads shown here are rubber-based wheels designed to peel stripes and residue clean under rotation. Sizes given are diameter and bore — check your tool's spindle and arbor setup before ordering.

Most stripe removal pads run at between 2,000 and 4,000 rpm. Too fast and you risk melting the vinyl into the clearcoat; too slow and the pad just polishes the stripe. If you're working on older paint or single-stage finishes, test on a hidden panel first — heat buildup can dull lacquer.
The rubber compound wears as it works. You'll see the pad diameter shrink and the edge round off after heavy use. Replace the pad when it stops gripping the stripe cleanly or starts leaving smears. Keep the tool moving — holding it in one spot concentrates heat and can burn through to primer on thin paint.
Bore diameter matters. A pad with a 16 mm bore won't fit a 20 mm spindle without an adapter sleeve, and wobble from a loose fit will chatter across the panel. Match the bore to your grinder or use the correct reducer bush. For adhesive that the pad misses, follow up with a citrus remover or isopropyl wipe, not a solvent that attacks paint.
