Sanding Discs

Sanding discs for angle grinders, drills, and rotary tools. Adhesive-backed and quick-change types across common diameters — 50mm, 75mm, 305mm — in 60, 80, and 120 grit. Match the disc diameter to your backing pad, pick the grit for the job, and check whether your tool needs adhesive or a twist-lock quick-change mount.

Grit choice depends on the work. 60 grit strips paint, rust, and welds quickly but leaves a coarse scratch pattern. 80 grit balances stock removal and finish — useful for general metal prep and timber smoothing. 120 grit produces a finer surface for final prep before paint or coating. Moving up through the grits in sequence gives a cleaner result than jumping straight to fine.

Adhesive-backed discs stick to a rubber or foam backing pad. They're cheap and easy to fit, but heat and repeated swaps will leave residue on the pad. Quick-change discs twist onto a Roloc-style mount — faster to swap mid-job, no glue build-up, but you need the matching holder. If you're running multiple grits or swapping discs often, quick-change makes sense. For occasional work, adhesive-backed is simpler.

Disc diameter must match the backing pad. Fit a 50mm disc to a 50mm pad, not a 75mm one — overhang will tear or catch. Check the pad thread or arbor size matches your tool before buying a new backing pad.
