Load Handling

Load slings and rigging hardware for lifting and moving machinery, steel, timber, and general fabrication work. These textile slings are built for repetitive lifting where chains would mark the load or add unnecessary weight. Sealey slings in this range run from 1m to 5m length, rated at 3-tonne or 5-tonne working load limit depending on hitch configuration.

Polyester webbing slings handle most workshop and site lifting without scratching finished surfaces or adding the bulk of chain. The working load limit stamped on the label applies to a straight vertical lift (single-leg); choke the sling around a load and you drop capacity by roughly 20%, use it in a basket and you double it. Check the label every time—UV exposure, grit in the weave, and edge cuts all retire a sling faster than the rated cycles suggest.

Length matters more than most buyers expect. A 1m sling works for compact machinery or pipe bundles where you're hooking close to the crane. Anything longer than waist height or irregular in shape needs 3m minimum to get the sling angle right without side-loading the hook. The 5m lengths suit structural steel, long timber baulks, or situations where you're slinging around wide loads and still want the legs steep enough to keep control.

The ball-bearing sling adjuster in this range removes twist under load when you're working with two or more legs of unequal length. It won't level a badly rigged load, but it stops one leg taking all the weight when the pick point shifts. Useful for asymmetric fabrications or any lift where you can't guarantee perfect balance before you take the strain.
