Hose Individual

Individual air hoses for compressor setups — straight runs, coiled recoil types, and high-visibility options. Covers 5mm to 10mm bore in lengths from 5m to 20m. Most come with 1/4″BSP unions or quick-release couplings fitted. Pick bore and length to match your compressor's CFM and the distance you need to cover.

Bore size dictates flow. An 8mm hose suits most workshop air tools — impact wrenches, blow guns, tyre inflators — up to about 15m without starving the tool. Step up to 10mm if you're running longer distances, higher-flow tools, or multiple drops off the same line. A 5mm coiled hose works for light intermittent use — inflating tyres, quick blow-offs — but chokes anything that needs sustained volume.

Check the union thread before you buy. The majority here use 1/4″BSP, which is standard on UK and Irish compressors. If your compressor or tool has a different thread, you'll need an adapter. High-visibility hose (usually bright orange or yellow) is worth the slight extra cost if the hose crosses a walkway or work area — you won't drive over it or trip on it as easily.

Coiled hose retracts to save floor space but adds resistance compared to a straight run. Fine for occasional use; less so if you need full pressure at the tool end. Straight hose doesn't kink as readily and handles higher flow, but you'll need to coil it manually or mount a reel. All the hoses here are reinforced — braided or spiral — so they hold pressure without ballooning. Sealey lists a working pressure on each; stay under that figure and the hose will outlast most other workshop consumables.
