Platform Trucks

Platform trucks for moving heavy loads across workshops, warehouses, and yards. Folding models store flat when not in use; fixed-frame units with removable sides let you stack awkward shapes. Pneumatic tyres roll easier over rough ground and kerbs; solid wheels suit smooth floors. Capacities from 70kg for light parts bins up to 350kg for engines, steel stock, or bulk materials.

Pick capacity first — overload a 150kg truck and the frame flexes, wheels bind, or the deck cracks. If you're shifting pallets or large crates, measure the bed; 1200×800mm fits a Euro pallet, smaller decks leave overhang. Folding models lock open with a spring clip or pin — check it's secure before you load. Canvas-sided trolleys are lighter but won't contain loose parts the way solid metal sides do.

Pneumatic tyres make a difference on uneven concrete, gravel, or expansion joints; they absorb shock and roll with less effort. Solid wheels are puncture-proof and fine for smooth surfaces, but you'll feel every bump. If you work outdoors or cross thresholds, go pneumatic. Removable sides convert a flatbed into a box trolley; useful when one truck has to do both jobs, but the pins or clips can catch on door frames if you're not paying attention.

Sealey platform trucks come powder-coated; clean them before rust starts in the welds. Grease the wheel axles once a month if you're moving heavy loads daily. Store folding units off the ground so the hinges don't seize.
