Capacity ratings matter. A 2200 kg truck handles two-tonne loads safely at full lift height; overloading risks hydraulic failure and fork damage. Sealey units are available in common fork widths and lengths to suit standard pallet sizes. If you run non-standard pallets or stillages, measure the stringer spacing before ordering — forks that don't align leave the load unstable.

Wheel material affects both floor protection and push effort. Polyurethane rolls smoothly on concrete and won't mark epoxy coatings; nylon is harder-wearing but noisier and can scuff polished floors. Single or tandem load wheels change manoeuvrability — tandem wheels spread weight better on uneven surfaces but increase the turning circle. Check the axle setup if you're working in tight aisles.

High-lift models raise loads to waist height for ergonomic unloading or feeding into workstations. Pallet trucks with integrated scales let you weigh loads in-place without a separate floor scale — useful for dispatch checks or stock control. Trucks with polyurethane-coated forks resist rust in damp environments; bare steel forks suit dry indoor use and cost less.
