Workshop Matting
Workshop matting cuts fatigue on concrete floors and gives you better footing around oil spills or wet areas. Choose ribbed rubber for durability in high-traffic zones, anti-fatigue cushioned mats where you stand for long shifts, or interlocking EVA foam tiles if you need to cover odd-shaped bays or move sections between jobs. Sizes run from small tool-station mats up to ten-metre rolls.

Ribbed rubber matting drains fluid and resists most workshop chemicals — diesel, coolant, brake fluid. The ribs channel spills away from your feet and give the mat structure so it doesn't curl at the edges under trolley wheels. Comes in fixed sheets or rolls you cut to length. Heavier gauge lasts longer in busy areas; lighter versions suit low-traffic spots or temporary setups.
Anti-fatigue mats have a foam or gel core that compresses when you shift weight, which reduces load on your lower back and knees during long standing work. Thicker is not always better — around 15–20 mm is the useful range; much thinner offers little cushion, much thicker becomes a trip hazard and tyre-trolleys wobble on it. Check the surface texture: smooth wipes clean easily but can be slippery when wet, embossed or studded grips better. If you weld or grind nearby, pick a mat rated for spark and heat resistance — standard foam will melt.
Interlocking EVA foam tiles snap together without adhesive, so you can lay exactly the area you need and lift sections for cleaning or access to floor drains. The foam is softer underfoot than solid rubber but doesn't hold up to the same abuse — fine for assembly benches or packing stations, less so for heavy plant traffic. Hi-vis edge strips finish the perimeter and reduce trips. If a tile gets cut or stained, replace that piece instead of the whole mat.
