Layflat hose is designed for pumped discharge — irrigation, tank filling, wash-down where you're moving water in volume and coiling it up afterward. It's light, stores compact, but won't take mains pressure continuously and kinks if dragged around corners under load. The 50 mm bore shifts roughly twice the volume of 32 mm at the same pressure; match diameter to pump output or the time you're willing to wait.

Fitted garden hose comes with couplings already crimped on, saves the hassle of matching threads and sealing. Rubber-reinforced hose resists kinking better than plain PVC and lasts longer if you're dragging it across concrete or gravel daily. Standard mains pressure is fine; if you're running a pressure washer, check the washer's inlet spec — most want 13 mm ID minimum.

Hose reels keep the line off the ground and make winding faster. Wall-mount spring-retract models suit fixed washdown points; trolley carts let you move the full length of hose where you need it without fighting the coil. Trolley wheels matter — small plastic castors bog in mud or gravel, larger diameter rubber tyres roll easier on rough ground. Reel capacity is given as maximum length for a stated hose diameter; overfilling jams the wind and stresses the drum.
