Vehicle Clamps & Barriers

Vehicle clamps and barriers keep vehicles where you want them — or keep them out altogether. Wheel clamps secure parked cars, vans, and trailers on site; parking barriers and bollards control access to yards, loading bays, and private roads. This range covers clamping equipment with locks, steering-wheel immobilisers, folding and removable bollards, and traffic cones for temporary zoning.

Wheel clamps come in two common types: jaw clamps fit over the tyre and rim, claw clamps hook around the wheel spokes or rim edge. Both lock with a cylinder key. Claw types can be quicker to fit but need clearance behind the spokes; jaw clamps work on any wheel design but add more bulk. Check the maximum tyre width the clamp will accept — van and 4×4 tyres are wider than typical car rubber. Steering-wheel locks immobilise without touching the wheels; useful for preventing unauthorised moves indoors or on trailers, less weather-resistant than a clamp on the tyre itself.

Parking barriers and bollards mark boundaries or block vehicle entry. Folding bollards hinge flat when not needed, so you can drive over the base plate; they're held upright with an integral padlock when raised. Removable bollards lift out of a locking base plate entirely — nothing protrudes when the post is stored elsewhere. Both types suit areas where access alternates between open and restricted. Fixed bollards (permanent concrete or steel posts) are stronger but outside this category. Standard height for a visible barrier is 900 mm or taller; anything lower risks being missed by a reversing driver.

Traffic cones are temporary markers — 750 mm height is the usual choice for car parks and site perimeters, high enough to be seen over a bonnet. Cones have no anchoring, so they shift if hit or in strong wind; use weighted bases or barrier tape between posts if you need a more rigid line. Store cones nested to save space. Check local regs if using them on or near a public road — retroreflective sleeves may be required after dark.
