Dust Suppression Tanks

Dust suppression tanks spray a fine mist to knock airborne dust out of the air on site. Common in demolition, cutting, and sweeping work where dry dust becomes a health or visibility problem. The tanks here are portable units — fill with water, pressurise with the built-in pump, and control the spray pattern with the wand. Useful when you need suppression on the move, not a fixed misting line.

Capacity dictates how long you can spray before refilling. An 8-litre tank suits short jobs or tight spaces; 14 litres covers longer sessions without trips back to the tap. Both sizes are light enough to carry around a site or load into a van daily.

The pump pressurises the tank so the spray reaches a few metres from the wand. Adjust the nozzle to widen or tighten the mist depending on the dust source — wide for general suppression over an area, narrow to target a specific cut or grinder. Check the seals and valve before each use; a slow leak wastes water and drops pressure mid-job.

These tanks work with clean water. Additives can be used if the manufacturer allows it, but read the tank's spec first — some seals degrade with chemicals. After use, drain fully and leave the cap off so the interior dries out. Stagnant water fouls the pump and grows algae in the lines.
