Sealant Guns
Sealant guns let you lay beads of adhesive, silicone, or body filler without air pressure. The two main sizes—230mm and 330mm—match standard cartridge lengths. Pick the 330mm frame for full sausage packs or larger cartridges; the 230mm version suits smaller jobs and tighter spaces. Ratchet mechanisms vary: cheaper frames use a thumb-release, better ones have a quick-release bar that stops flow instantly when you squeeze the trigger back.

Check the plunger rod first. A bent or rough rod binds in the cartridge and forces you to fight every stroke. Steel rods outlast aluminium; some Sealey frames use a rotating plunger disk that stays square to the cartridge base and spreads pressure evenly—useful when you're emptying a stiff MS-polymer pack in January.
Thrust ratio matters if you're pushing thick sealant. A 12:1 frame gives decent pressure for silicone and acrylic caulk; panel adhesives and structural MS-polymers need 18:1 or higher, or you'll tire your hand before the cartridge empties. If the job needs a smooth bead, look for a frame with an anti-drip release—pushing the rod forward half a turn after you stop squeezing pulls the plunger back and kills the ooze.
Ladder hooks and belt clips sound trivial until you're working off steps with a full cartridge. A bent hook that catches the rung properly keeps the gun on the ladder when you reach for a rag; flimsy stampings slide off. Sausage-pack conversion kits replace the cradle with a barrel and nozzle—handy if you buy sealant in bulk foil packs rather than rigid cartridges.
