Riveters
Pneumatic riveters use shop air to set blind rivets and rivet nuts faster than hand tools, with less fatigue on repetitive jobs. The air/hydraulic models here convert air pressure into hydraulic force — more pull than straight air riveters, useful for large-diameter aluminium or steel rivets. Vacuum systems collect mandrels as you go, cutting cleanup time on production runs or confined installs.

Air/hydraulic riveters suit bodywork, fabrication, trailer builds, and anywhere you're setting dozens of rivets in a shift. Pull force matters: check the maximum rivet diameter and material the tool is rated for against what you're joining. Aluminium rivets need less force than steel; stainless takes more again. Most tools list capacity in millimetres for each material — don't assume the largest stated size works in every alloy.
Vacuum models use an inline collector to catch spent mandrels. That keeps the floor clear and stops swarf jamming into mechanisms or rolling under your feet, but adds a canister to empty and another hose to manage. Worth it if you're working overhead or inside vehicle bodies where debris is a problem. Standard models drop mandrels; fine outdoors or on open benches.
Rivet nut tools thread the fastener onto a mandrel, pull it until the back collapses, then reverse to release. Different nose assemblies fit different thread sizes — check what's included and what you'll need separately. Keep the mandrels clean and check the hydraulic reservoir level if pull becomes inconsistent. Airline filtration matters: moisture and grit in the air will shorten seal life.
