Power Washing Equipment and Supplies

Powerwashing can be a great way to clean your home, driveway, deck or patio without having to scrub away for hours with a pressure washer. Power washing can also go above and beyond what is possible in the soft wash industry with a garden hose by efficiently removing paint, mildew stains or other stubborn dirt on exterior surfaces that need cleaning but are too high to reach. The four basic types of power washing tools or equipment are:

Power washers / Pressure Washers

This machine has the most extensive cutting power and is excellent for large areas. It can do all your floors (the kitchen and bathrooms usually being the largest), as well as your driveway. This is probably the most expensive type of equipment to buy if you are a hobbyist. The professionally manufactured versions do cost thousands of dollars, but some great ones price around $3,000 for domestic and industrial use in Ireland.

To start with you should buy a low pressure washer, because high pressure ones can hurt your skin, and they can damage siding when cleaning. Use a detergent (soap) for the best and efficient results. Power Washers tend to be better suited for domestic use than petrol power washers.

You rarely use a pressure washer on stairs. You have to be very careful not to cause water damage to house siding with power washing equipment. Use a soft spray and clean only when the temperature is above 50 degrees and never on a hot sunny day.

Garden hose

The most basic of power washing equipment is just your basic garden hose. However, this is not always the best way to clean, especially if there is a lot of dirt and paint on the surface that needs cleaning. Unless you have a very good pressure washer with lots of pressure, then it will be hard to get off paint or dirt from any great distance (more than 2 feet). You can still get a lot of power out of it though. It is also easier to wash siding and other dirty surfaces that your pressure washer cannot reach.

Chemical-Detergents

This is not really a tool, but rather chemicals that you dissolve in water yourself. This allows you to know exactly how strong the solution is, so you can handle places where pets have accidents and mud from football games and all kinds of other things. Some chemicals for power washing include:

Underwater power washer

This is a great tool for getting into small places. This will handle the gunk in the best way possible. The only shortcoming with it is that it is not strong enough to wash a large amount of paint off a surface.

There are many different types of power washing equipment, with some being more expensive than others. The best way to get the most for your money is to buy a low pressure power washer made for the job you need it for. These are designed to handle harsh chemicals like bleach very well, so they are not harmful when used on siding or certain other surfaces. They also have a low amount of pressure, unlike true power washers which require a high level of pressure to clean well.

The best thing you can do to keep your power washer in good working order is to read the manual that comes with it, and follow it. This will help you extend the life of your soft wash equipment, and know how to use it properly for better cleaning results. Power washing is a great money saver. It is not as hard as people think it is, and the results are well worth it.

The equipment and supplies that are involved in power-washing depend on what is being cleaned.

A typical power washer will have a pump, pressure regulator and wand. There are also many attachments that can be purchased for your power washer to make the job easier. These include things like an extension wand, power source, pump, hoses, a soap nozzle, turbo nozzle or a detergents injector. You can also get nozzles for cleaning your patio or stairs, car wash, or for washing concrete. There are also different nozzles to use when cleaning wood or metals.  The good news is that you can use both electric power washers and petrol power washers for your car.

There are a few instances where using a pressure washer on siding is not recommended. The first is if your house has any type of brick or stone façade. The pressure of the stream can cause damage to the mortar and brick, so it is best to avoid power washing these surfaces.

The second is if the weather is not warm enough for cleaning. The third is if you are doing the cleaning yourself. If you have your own power pressure washer, it is best to have your machine professionally inspected and tuned up before use.

If you are going to power wash a driveway, it is a good idea to make sure that you pick up all of the rocks or other debris along the way. Keeping the surface free of any loose objects can prevent damage from flying debris while washing your driveway, patio or deck.

There are many stores that sell a wide variety of power washer accessories, so you can find one that will fit your needs. It is generally best to buy a nozzling kit or tools that comes with an industrial or commercial pressure washer, since it is more cost effective soft wash and easier to use than buying the nozzles as an add-on for specific product machinery.

Power washing a driveway costs less than renting one. It also gives you more control over what you do while power pressure washing, since it is much more portable than renting one for a day or two at a time. If the surface to be washed is small, it is best to use a hose. This will allow you to clean the area without taking a lot of time. Small areas can also be cleaned on the ground, if it is not too difficult.
