The Power of Powerfoam

One of the largest ongoing costs in any car or truck wash is that of detergent. In most cases the detergent is applied at high or low pressure via a high pressure washer, simply by blasting it against the vehicle. In theory, the wash operator then has to wait a few minutes to allow the detergent to do its work and attack the traffic film it is designed to clear. Most detergents are designed to work in the same fashion, they dissolve the traffic film which binds the dirt to the vehicle and this then causes the dirt to be loosened allowing it to be easily power washed off.

If one thinks about the above scenario it sounds a crazy method of applying detergent, after all its simply not much different than throwing a bucket of detergent over the vehicle and hoping for the best. Admittedly up until now there really was not any more efficient method of applying detergent.

Whether the detergent is purchased in 25l, 205l or 1000l containers, there is nothing more frustrating than to see the applied chemical running straight off the vehicle. It is expensive, wasteful and very likely damaging to the environment.

Triace Ltd having been building and supplying power washers for over 30 years and have long been looking for a better method of applying detergents or indeed any chemical which needs to be applied premixed with water. Now we believe we have such a system. By utilizing a unique mixing valve with assisting air we can develop high foam which literally sticks to the vehicle. There is little waste as there is virtually no run off and since the foam is applied at quite low pressure there is very little blow back. It goes where you put it and stays there and works. If you use a high foam detergent it is almost like applying shaving foam. It sticks and works and cleans and sticks and works and cleans.

We estimate that the cost of detergent for a typical wash can literally be halved. And with detergents costing up to €2.50 per litre the system cost will be repaid very quickly. Also if required, the high pressure air can be used to blow out the powerwasher lines in winter so that sub zero temperatures never affect you again.

One other advantage of the Powerfoam system is that in most cases there is no longer a requirement to use a hot wash for the final wash off as since the detergent has been allowed to do it’s job a cold water cleaner is more than good enough.

Triace Ltd, have recently installed Powerfoam systems in Glanbia Portlaoise and Clonroche, Co Wexford, Dalton’s of Cahir, JS & J Harris Transport Athy, David Nestor Freight Services Clondalkin Dublin, and these guys are professionals who are vastly experienced, but why not see for yourself, ask for a demonstration today.
