Transmission

Transmission tools cover drivetrain service work — chain alignment and splitting, clutch centring, gearbox and differential oil changes. Built for stripping bikes, cars, vans, and off-road machines where access is tight and the wrong tool means a botched job or damaged parts.

Chain tools matter on bikes and bicycles. A breaker and riveter that handles your chain pitch without side-loading the pin will give you a flush rivet and no kink. Alignment tools remove guesswork — sight down the tool against sprockets front and rear, adjust the rear wheel, lock it square. Saves chains and sprockets from premature wear.

Clutch alignment sets use tapered arbors or expanding mandrels to centre the friction plate on the flywheel before you bolt the cover on. Without one, the splines don't engage and the gearbox won't mate. Commercial vehicle sets typically run larger diameters and include adaptors for twin-plate assemblies.

Oil change kit depends on what you're filling. Gearboxes and diffs often have no dipstick — you pump fluid in through the level plug until it weeps back out. A dispensing unit with a flexible spout and hand pump lets you dose exactly what's needed without overfilling. Adaptor sets for specific vehicle families (VAG gearboxes, for example) thread into the fill point and take the guesswork out of getting the nozzle in. Drain pans with low-profile trays fit under propshafts and axle housings where a bucket won't.

Propshaft impact sockets are cut with flats or hex profiles that match Land Rover, Mitsubishi, and other 4x4 flange bolts — standard sockets round them off. Match the drive size and bolt spec to the vehicle.
