Windscreen removal relies on cutting through the adhesive bead cleanly without scoring the aperture or shattering the glass. Wire type matters: braided wire cuts urethane faster and lasts longer than plain square wire, but either works if you keep tension even and use proper grip handles. A wire starter tool punches the initial hole through the bead so you can thread the wire without levering from the edge. Kits that include both the starter and a complete set of wires cover most jobs.

Installation tools—usually plastic or nylon spatulas and smoothing sticks—bed the new screen into fresh adhesive without trapping air or tearing the bead. Folding stands hold the glass vertical while the bond cures, keeping workshop floor space clear and the screen stable. Handling kits with suction cups let one person move large panes safely; match the cup count and load rating to the screen size.

Trim clip removers are tapered prybars, usually sold in sets of four with different tip profiles.
